We are trying to compile a list of USA Radio stations and their presenters that do a weekly show of Irish/Traditional music. If you know of such shows can you provide a link to the station and the programme. This would be a big help to us. thanks

Hello!  My name is Cindy Funk and I do a weekly celtic music show called The Dear Green Place on WYSOfm in Ohio.

The Dear Green Place has been on the air since 2005, and I play mostly trad celtic music and contemporary music with a trad sensibility.  You can catch the show locally on 91.3 fm, or streaming online at: www.wyso.org .  The Dear Green Place airs every Saturday from 3 - 5pm.  Along with playing great celtic folk music on cd, I also occasionally have folk playing live in the studio.

Check out my station page (http://wyso.org/programs/dear-green-place) for playlists of recent shows, plus links to some of the interviews I've done. You can also find me on Facebook, under my name or The Dear Green Place.

I'm always looking for new music for my audience.  Artists can contact me at: cindy@thedeargreenplace.net

KWMR, north of San Francisco, has aired "The Celtic Universe" for over 10 years. Hosts are Loretta Farley and Lyons Filmer (that's me!). We play music from all over the 'Celtic diaspora". Saturdays, 6-8 pm Pacific time. 90.5 fm Point Reyes Station and 89.9 fm Bolinas; streaming live from www.kwmr.org. We do archive, BUT have been having major technical problems with it...hoping to be fixed soon.

Also, check with Dan Neely at NY Echo...he set up a google group of Irish music show presenters and others connected to spreading the work on this great music.

cheers,

Lyons

I don't know if I ever responded to this but I host an Irish Radio show in Philadelphia. It is heard every Sunday at noon Eastern time and can be heard at www.wtmrradio.com. Unfortunately it cannot always be accessed in Ireland due to FAA regulations. HOwever there are other times when it can, and it can also be heard via iHeartradio.com. It is an hour long show featuring recorded and live music, phone and in-studio interviews and local Philadelphia news and happenings. I also have a facebook page "Philadelphia Sunday Irish Radio Show" where I post my upcoming events, playlists and music links.

I host a weekly show called From the Shamrock Shore on KRVS public radio in Lafayette, Louisiana. It airs Thursdays at 8pm, and is available for live streaming or podcasting at http://krvs.org/programs/shamrock-shore.

Hi Guys,

I'm starting to compile a similar list as I need it for a Promotion called Celtic Invasions which is hopefully going to tour the USA later this year and I wondered......how did we get on with this list and more importantly if I could grovel and persuade folks to share their findings? If we generate any more up to date information I'll be only to happy to reciprocate ;-)

Cheers

This is so timely! I host Thunder on the Plains, Nebraska's only Celtic radio show airing twice-weekly on Nebraska's oldest community radio station, 89.3FM KZUM. We stream worldwide at kzum.org, and you can connect to us through our Facebook page. Our shows are currently Tuesday 1-2pm and Sunday 6-7pm CST.

Also, I have created a Facebook group for Celtic Radio Programmers and would love any of you to join us for Celtic radio-related discussions.

Thanks for starting this thread! I look forward to connecting with more Celtic radio DJs. I also am trying to amp up the show for 2015, so please feel free to reach out to me if you're interested in us airing your music, or if we can help promote your gig/festival in the Midwest region. :-)

Cheers,

Susan
