Quanto tempo viveste no Brasil?

Yes sir, I do.

I became interested in trad irish music when I visited Ireland, staying with an irish friend of mine. Came back to Brazil with a tin whistle and a tune book, and started a small project here in Porto Alegre, the capital of the southernmost state in Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul. We started as a trio with guitar, fiddle and I would change between tin whistle and mandolin. Now I've got a tenor banjo, an octave mandolin an also an irish flute. Our fiddler left the band, but we got a button accordion player to replace it, and things are beginning to sound really cool. I like chorinho as well, but it's a really challenging genre. ITM is also challenging, but it suits me better.

How did you come to be interested in Irish music? ... and where in Brazil do you live? ... and what instrument(s) do you play?  Apart from Irish music on mandolin, I am a little bit interested in choro (chorinho?).

Olá Lawrie! Tudo tranquilo, e tu?
