Is it just me?

Having been playing and singing for a number of years, I sometimes feel that folks wish to categorise things much more than is necessary.  It's like they are saying, "if you don't play this tune this way, or sing the song with these ornamentations, then you're not one of us, whoever we may be."  Now the way that I play and sing varies from day to day.  I hardly ever play the same thing twice in the same way.  I probably reach out to more people that way, though that isn't my intention.  I…See More

I play in a semi pro band called Swinging the Lead. I also sing and play other instruments as a solo singer and am involved in various sessions around Hampshire. I am always open to invitations to go and play and sing!

Help a struggling young poet!

It's like this folks.  I've been writing poems and song lyrics for what seems like ever.  But you know how it is, getting them published is another matter.  The Commanding Officer can always find me jobs like the washing up so getting down to it has been a problem.
