The Flying Toads

The Flying Toads are a multi-instrumental band playing inventive arrangements of Irish music. Their extensive repertoire ranges from lively jigs and reels to high-energy songs and haunting ballads.

The name "The Flying Toads" came about as a spoonerism of the Irish hornpipe "The Flowing Tide"!

Being a four piece band and each playing several instruments, the Toads focus on arrangements that explore the best blending of sounds and dynamics, as well as choosing tunes and songs that are exciting to listen to.

"Traditional Celtic music at its best!" - Catherine L.Tully, CelticMP3 Website, USA (Apr 2011)

"Sussex quartet deliver the goods in solidly impressive debut. Their virtuosity and ability delivers in spades!" – fRoots Magazine (Mar 2011)

"For those of you who really love Irish traditional music, this one is for you! Putting in this CD will transport you to your favourite local pub. This would be a great addition to any Celtic music lover’s collection." - Catriona Hamilton, Sixty Seven Music, USA (Feb 2011)

“Produced by Alistair Russell (Battlefield Band) this is gimmick-free playing and singing of the finest order.”  - Oz Hardwick, “4 Star review” Rock ‘n’ Reel (Jan 2011)
