Album reviews

You will notice that I have recently started to add Album Reviews to my Blog posts. What I think would be good is that on the home page we have an album review section by members. This gives other members a chance to comment on albums and could provide a good resource for people in choosing which albums to buy. It is also an opportunity for members to try out their writing/blogging skills. A couple of issues with this.

TRADCONNECT ANNOUNCEMENT - First TradConnect Meet Up.

OK folks. We are a bit ahead of schedule but we have had the first TradConnect meetup for a few tunes. And it was'nt in the same town, it was across the water. Kildare based duo Dulahan-Irl and North of England Michael Robert Orme, based in Chesterfield. To mark the occasion they made a video.

Dervish!

Dervish Community

Dervish will host the grand finale to end this years Dublin Ohio Festival.The band will be live on stage at 10pm Irish time and the finale will take place at 3am Irish time.

The performance is being streamed live from the website below. The festival attracted over 100 000 people over the weekend.

A trip down memory lane

 A couple of days ago i heard Óige, feat. Cara Dillon in a video clip on Baxter Labatos Facebook page,

and i started thinking of the great craic we had at Gothenburg Irish festivals back in 1994 and then again in 1997

Fixing old/bad instruments

Found a video today on how to improve a "Ebay/Pakistani/tourist" € 40 bodhrán. Great stuff, and great results for little effort.

Now i was thinking if members here could/would share tips like for example what/how to make a flea market mandolin, if not great, at least playable.  I don't mean major stuff, but more like putting new strings on, maybe oiling tuners…
