This debut excels with tight, carefully crafted and exceptionally well played traditional music. Its outlook is modern with a vibrant interplay between the three musicians also finely balanced. Stephen Rooney, Tara Breen and Conor Moriarty make up the trio with guests Sean Óg Graham and James Blennerhasset adding bass, Jim Higgins percussion and Ciara McCrickard vocals. Energy and vitality exist on every track with a thundering percussive beat to polkas and reels alike. The vocal tracks of which there are two, John O’ Dreams and Yellow by P. Leich are not fillers, and are just as beautifully crafted. The slow reel Sarah’s Fiddle paired with Liz Carroll’s Walking the Plank, Johnny O'Leary's Jigs and the opening George Peoples Reels show three musicians at the top of their game.  The Tri-Tones represent the pinnacle of our youthful modern day musicians who have the wherewithal to produce outstanding music.  This debut succeeds on so many levels and is one of my albums of the year.

lovely blend of accordion and fiddle with  fiddle and accordion switching back and forth, accordion drones  and fiddle melody with very earthy groove on the guitar,

Extremely tasty, this George Peoples track. Crisp and lean, but lush too. Would like to hear more.
