TRADITIONAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2012 : It was without doubt a great year for traditional Irish music in 2012.  The quality of the albums that we received was outstanding. In addition to the mainstream albums there is also a lot of great work going on at a community level with musicians funding their own albums and other projects. In 2013 we are going to celebrate this as well, finding stories that help inspire.

For now though we need to pick Album of the Year 2012. In deciding on a shortlist we picked the top 15 albums by views on Tradconnect.  This we felt captured some of the best music of the year. It is by no means an easy task picking album of the year and can be very subjective. To give as fair a result as possible we are combining a Tradconnect Members Vote with the vote of a panel of 20 musicians who know and like their music. To vote simply go to the link below.
