Traditional Irish Music
So it's all go at the moment with the new album. Mixing and mastering is nearly finished and the balance of the tracks and instrumentation is coming along nicely. I find the best place to listen is the car stereo. So I'm not completely big headed listening to my own music in the car! It's all about getting a good balance. I suppose Rob Laird, sound engineer and I are well used to one another now which makes the editing stage easier although with some vocals involved this time, we might fall out yet who knows!?
I have attached the album cover, a beautiful picture of the countryside by photographer Scott Menzer. I am again working with Graphic Designer Paul O'Donovan for the packaging and design of the album. Paul is now based in Germany but with the internet we can send ideas to and fro very easily indeed. I hope everyone will like the album package. No clocks this time mind!
Music wise, I have playing some of the tracks from the new album at some recent gigs like the IMRO showcase last Friday at Temple Bar Trad Fest. They got a good response. Listen out for John Byrne's intricate guitar playing on this album. Fantastic stuff.
Launches are being planned. The first for sure in Westmeath. Where else!? Another few in the pipeline during the summer too. Maybe even one abroad?
Talk soon. Síocháin na Tuaithe ag teacht go luath!
