Event Description

The 15th Annual Carmel Gunning Int. Summer School Festival for 2014 will be held from 4th August to 6th August inclusive. Classes and a programme of events will take place during the three day event just before the big Fleadh in Sligo town.  

Guest tutors and musicians for the summer school this year are Orlaith McAuliffe andBrogan McAuliffe from London(past pupils of the summer school!), Olivia McTernan, Sligo and Joe Grady, Mayo. Orlaith and Olivia will join Carmel Gunning as  tutors in tin whistle, flute, traditional singing and mixed instruments. All levels are catered for and all ages as well intin whistle, flute, mixed instruments, traditional singing and a new class in ornamentatin and variation.

Rita Gallagher, the well known traditional singer from Co. Donegal is this years special guest at the singing session at Carmel Gunning Int. Summer School.

You are all very welcome to attend the Carmel Gunning  summer school and listen to some exciting music and singing throughout the three day event which ends on the 6th August with a monster music session in Geevagh, Co. Sligo. More details later.
