"When I look up Mórga in my Irish – English dictionary it says: Great, exalted and majestic. I can't think of a more apt description of this outstanding band”.
"These young musicians' enthusiasm, interplay and their perfected style already puts them on line with the biggest groups in traditional Irish music.
We are delighted to welcome the brilliant Mórga back to Belfast, to kick off our 2013 concert programme. Mórga (Irish for "majestic") is based around the well-known tradition of fiddle and accordion duet, with backing provided by the bodhran and Greek bouzouki. Add the banjo to this mix and you have a fearsome cocktail! Mórga are a four-piece playing high-energy, souped up Irish traditional music, inspired by the great bands of the 1970s.
