Traditional Irish Music
The weekly slow session continues this Saturday afternoon, June 9th, at the New York Irish Center. We've been having a nice turnout lately (around 5-6 musicians), so let's keep it going!
Some tunes we're practicing: Bill Malley's & Kilnamona Barndance. Here are links for sheet music & recordings -
Again, this is a session geared towards beginners. So if you ever feel that the speed is too fast, just ask and folks won't mind slowing down to a speed you're comfortable with.
On a related note, if you want to start playing at a faster pace, you should head over to Dempsey's (61 2nd Avenue) on Tuesday nights (8pm onwards). Great musicians, friendly atmosphere, big space and beer!
