Event Description

The weekly slow session for irish tunes continues this Saturday afternoon, at the New York Irish Center. We've been having a nice turnout lately, so let's keep it going!

There were a couple of suggestions for practice tunes (aka homework) - Galway Hornpipe and Anything for John Joe. You can find sheet music on our google-group page (see below). We'll probably play the tunes a few times slowly together (assuming atleast one of us learns it).

Again, this is a session geared towards beginners. So if you ever feel that the speed is too fast, just ask and folks won't mind slowing down to a speed you're comfortable with.

On a related note, if you want to start playing at a faster pace, you should head over to Dempsey's (61 2nd Avenue) on Tuesday nights (8pm onwards). Great musicians, friendly atmosphere, big space and beer!
