Event Description

The weekly slow session continues this Saturday afternoon, at the New York Irish Center. We've been having a nice turnout, so let's keep it going!

Last week for this month's practice tunes - Galway Hornpipe and Anything for John Joe. Do bring up suggestions for tunes for August.

Again, this is a session geared towards beginners. So if you ever feel that the speed is too fast, just ask and folks won't mind slowing down to a speed you're comfortable with.

On a related note, if you want to start playing at a faster pace, you should head over to Dempsey's (61 2nd Avenue) on Tuesday nights (8pm onwards). Great musicians, friendly atmosphere, big space and beer!

- Location for the Saturday slow session: New York Irish Center, 1040 Jackson Ave, Long Island City (first stop in Queens after Grand Central Station on the 7 train)

- Time: 1:30pm-4pm

- Cost: FREE (or few dollars to show our appreciation for amenities)

- Good Slow Tunes Resource - http://www.toraigh.com/slowsessions.html

- Tunelist (just suggestions, you can still play what you know): https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en&fromgroups#!topic/slowsession/zXAZSnhFZHA
