The Slow Session continues this saturday afternoon at NYIC. All instruments and levels welcome!
The popular tunes for this month seem to be Siege of Ennis (aka Rattlin Bog) and Galway Girl (click on the links to get the sheets/recording). There were a couple of other tunes last week that some folks liked, but I forgot the names... hit reply-all if you remember any.
Again, this is a session geared towards learning musicians. Some of us play with sheet music, but you're encouraged to (try) pick it up by ear as well. There's not many rules, so feel free to play at a slower pace or choose an unknown tune/song. Just make sure you know the entire tune (so others can learn from you).
On a related note, if you want to start playing at a faster pace, you should head over to Dempsey's (61 2nd Avenue) on Tuesday nights (8pm onwards). Great musicians, friendly atmosphere, big space and beer!
