Event Description

he Legend of Luke Kelly
Featuring Chris Kavanagh and The Patriots
Remembering Luke, one of the greatest folk singers of the 20th Century
Sunday 20th April (Easter Sunday) 8PM
Tickets: €23
On January 30th 1984 Ireland mourned the passing of arguably the greatest folk singer of the 20th Century. Luke Kelly is universally recognised as being the finest ballad voice the world has ever heard.
As the lead singer with The Dubliners, the power and the passion of the voice of Luke Kelly gave us the definitive versions of all time classics like Raglan Road, The Town I Loved So Well, The Owl Triangle, A Song for Ireland and so many more.
The Legend of Luke Kelly is currently one of the most successful shows in Ireland, selling out performances all over the island.
Chris Kavanagh bears a remarkable resemblance to Luke Kelly, while his singing captures the depth and passion of the folk icon. Chris was invited to tour with The Dubliners in 2011, the ultimate accolade for him in his remembering the phenomenon that is Luke Kelly.
Don’t miss what will be a very special Easter Sunday night at the Ballymaloe Grainstore.
