The Outside Track & Socks in the Frying Pan
Come see not one, but two of the hottest Celtic acts on the scene today! February 26, 2015 at 7pm - Coconino Center for the Arts.
Socks in the Frying Pan is a trad trio that hails from Ennis, County Clare in Ireland. With vocals, guitar, accordion, and fiddle, this young band packs in a mighty sound....and a mighty crowd! I had the pleasure of seeing them at the Milwaukee Irish Fest last August and it was standing room only at every gig! This group is going nowhere but up! Smooth harmonies, modern traditional sound, and a bit of Americana influence will keep your toes tapping and entertain you all night!
The Outside Track is a quintet hailing from Cape Breton, Scotland, and Ireland. This group is comprised of 5 outstanding young musicians are members of prominent musical families and are award winners in their own fields. Together, The Outside Track was the winner of Best Group in the Live Ireland and TIR awards. This band will stun you with their vocals (Teresa Horgan from Full Set is the newest member of the group), virtuosity, and seamlessly fused traditional and contemporary music, as well as step dancing! This band is one of the top Celtic groups in the world - and you have the opportunity to hear them!
This amazing double bill will take place in the intimate theater at Coconino Center for the Arts on February 26 at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30pm.
