Event Description

Dublin based band Varo have announced a date for their debut album launch in The Sound House in Dublin on Friday the 28th of February 2020.

About this Event

Traditional Irish Music with hints of baroque, medieval and folk influences

Varo are singers and fiddle players Lucie Azconaga and Consuelo Nerea Breschi. They perform Irish traditional songs and tunes with arrangement influences from the folk, baroque and classical traditions, weaving around the melodies with harmonies, drones and countermelody, in collaboration with singer Niamh Bury and bouzouki player Libby Mc Crohan.

Lucie, from France, and Consuelo, from Italy met in 2015, after moving to Dublin to pursue their love for Irish traditional music, and immediately started a fruitful collaboration.

Both of them have also been involved in other projects, such as Landless, the Lisa O' Neill's Band, Ye Vagabonds, The Morning Tree, Alasource, The Nomadic Piano Project.

Varo's self-titled debut album will be released on the 23rd of January, followed by a Tour of Ireland and Uk.

On the 28th of February in The Sound House, Varo will be joined on stage by some very special guests.
