Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for radio stations/ programs that broadcast trad music?  Which are worth a listen?

Ta!

Hi Erica,

Ceili House on RTE 1, Saturday night at 9pm is a good start.  If you log onto RTE Player you can play back previous episodes.  Paul

Neansai Ni Choisdealbha, Beal Maidine, Raidio na Gaeltachta, 7-9am, Sunday

Martin Donohue, The Wind That Blows, Shannonside Northern Sound, 6-8pm, Saturday

Paddy Ryan, The Heather Breeze, Shannonside Northern Sound, 7-8pm, Sunday

Padraig O Dufaigh, Coppers and Brass, Midlands 103, 6-8pm, Sunday

Noel Fahy, The Crooked Road, Tipp Mid-West, 7-8pm Thursday, 9-10am Sunday

All Irish radio stations and Irish times. All can be found online. There are loads more out there too for example on Clare FM, Radio Kerry, RTE Radio 1, eg, Ceili House-9-10pm Saturday with Kieran Hanrahan.

We use Pandora on the 'net.

Custom make your own channel or search for existing channels like Fiddle and Flute.

ignore this meant to reply to OP.

Clare.FM "The West Wind" weeknights 7PM-9PM GMT.

Hi Erica , May I recommend www.celticmusicradio.net . We are a Celtic Station ran by a team of volunteers in Glasgow  Scotland . There are some very good trad programmes on offer there I also do a show there on a Sun and play a mix of Trad/Folk  , Country roots and singer song writers .Celtic Music Radio Broadcast live from the Glasgow Royal concert Hall during Celtic Connections every year covering Te Danny Kyle Stage . Some of our listeners have travelled from The USA ,The Netherlands, Germany ,France just to meet us presenters :) so its quite a popular station and many touring acts have guested while here in Glasgow .  Kind Regards Mary K

I second Patrick - Each program of The West Wind on Clare FM can be downloaded as podcasts for about a week after airing until the next ones are put up on the website, and each of the presenters puts their own spin on trad music - lovely tune selections and interviews as well, including a few live segments from Willie Clancy Week each year.
