Traditional Irish Music
We are revamping our links section to highlight websites that we really like and think add that something extra. These are sites that we visit on a regular basis and are ones that we think you should check out. We also give a brief reason why we like it. The majority are in the category of "information supply" rather than artist sites or retail sites. What we consider the best of the best. In many cases they are the initiative of individuals who take on a project and set something up.
So if you know of sites that fit this category then add them below. But remember you must be able to give a reason why it is so good, with particular reference to traditional music of course.
Ceol Alainn blogspot Listen to some rare old recordings.
Irish Music.Net A good links site. We go there from time to time.
Michael Clarksons Flute Site Simply a great site for tunes, especially for flute players
Custys Music It's in the heart of trad land and is one of a kind
Tunepal No smart phone should be without. Great for finding tunes as well
Clancys of Athy A great music pub but also a pub that can represent their music well on their website.
Bright Young Folk Not exactly traditional, but we like it as a site.
The above is just a sample and we will be adding lots more. If you know of some, list them below. We will compile a final schedule

I'd have to nominate www.uilleannobsession.com .... of course :)
Biggest database of tunes. For every tune there is a standard notation, ABC notation, discussion, list of albums where it is featured (there is also a database with virtually all the Irish trad albums recorded - with links to transcriptions of the tunes) and alternative titles. I use it A LOT!
I would like to propose : http://www.tinwhistler.com/
A huge archive with MP3's, midi's and sheetmusic.....
