Hello, looking for critique and criticism for my work on these Irish songs for piano. Not Irish enough? Too embellished? Unsingable? Any and all criticism is appreciated, thank you!

Hi Jerome, I like them! Lovely arrangements full of variation and nuance. Would be great to hear you singing them too. The arrangements wouldn't fit entirely inside the "traditional" canon because of occasional chord progressions or the odd pop-music style trill, but these certainly aren't overkill from what I heard (I got through a couple of mins of each track). Did you make them for a specific purpose? Keep it up!
A specific purpose? No. Mostly, I wanted to see if I could make them sound Irish. I try to make all of the Irish and Scottish songs I play sound traditional. It's the ultimate goal, me having not been raised in the tradition.
Traditions evolve, don't forget... and for the piano what could constitute traditional in style as a solo instrument may not resonate as traditional in style in general.I can send you a message to highlight the specific things which stand out if that helps?
Might be worth checking with this group too, just in case they don't look at the general forum...
