Fiddle Rental in Ireland?

I have a friend who is traveling to Ireland from the US. He wants to play in sessions, but does not want to risk his valuable fiddle on an airline flight. He asked me about the possibility of renting an instrument while he is there. He'll be flying in and out of Shannon. I don't know his exact itinerary.

Does anybody have any contacts where he might rent a fiddle? I'm thinking West coast, near Shannon, but any location would be helpful for future such questions.
