Now here is a difficult question.  How do you pick album of the year? We have taken a look at the album reviews that we have done since we started here on TradConnect to try and establish what might be album of the year for 2012.

We had planned to pick 10 albums or any album that had over 200 views.  Some albums have already been given a helping hand by being Album of the Month already.  We ended up picking 15. So based on comments that we receive to this discussion we are going to narrow it down quite a bit as we try to pick Album of the Year.

Albums that receive comments below will stay in the running and ones that don't may just drop off.  It will all be a bit subjective so let see where we get to.

Kevin Crawford-Carrying the Tune

I have to be honest and say I have not heard all these albums this year except for the odd track but for the ones I have heard in full I cannot make up my mind between

Caitlín Nic Gabhann or Macdara O Raghallaigh

Patrick Clifford's Chance of a Start

Only a truly great musician would record an album live and unaccompanied. It's got to be
Macdara O'Raghallaigh - Ego Trip!

Great album. Haven't stopped listening to it all week. It really gets everybody goin! Go on Socks in the Fryin pan!!!!

Its Socks in The Frying Pan for me. Top class debut album from what I can clearly determine are some seriously talented lads. The album ebbs and flows wonderfully. It has a brilliant modern sound and is a very well rounded piece of work from start to finish. They have my vote. This one stands out for me, no question about it.

Thanks.
