Hello everyone!

It's nice to be here. I'm a long time fan of Traditional Irish music, I've listened to LiveIreland Radio for years.

I would really like to play TIM, but I getting started has been difficult. I am still looking for other TIM players in my area, which is in Japan, near Tokyo.

At the moment I'm already learning the Koto, which has my hands full a little. So I've thought about taking up the Tin Whistle so at least I'm playing one Irish instrument! My goal is to work my way up to an Irish Flute.

I've seriously thought about converting some Irish tunes to play on my Koto in a harp solo style, but my knowledge of chords and music theory is pretty weak, and I'm not even sure what music book would be best to start with! I know how to read alto clef but I'm pretty bad at reading treble clef as most music is written so ill need to work on that too.

In short I'm happy to be here! I hope I can connect with other trad fans here in Japan and learn to play Traditional Irish Music! And I hope I can find advise for making some Irish music for the koto, should be interesting to say the least!
