Hello, I'm trying very hard to find the rest of this song.  This is all I know of it - The golden notes go floating along the vale of song, and all the worlds a singing school when Michael comes along"

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

answer to your message there is a famous song on you tube are you there moriarty which was broadcast every time on radio eireann way back in dublin the 1970/80 there is no songs about me my name is michaelmoriarty

This is all I can remember from waaaay back in the early to mid 50s when I heard this in parochial school.  It's been 60+ years since:):

For every bird that's listenin is learnin how to sing when Michael Moriarty tells 'em it is spring.  The golden notes go floating down a vail of song  And it's all the world's a singin school  when Michael comes along.

When the lark's asleep in the meadow and the thrush gives a whistle or two.............................................................................

Here's hoping you were able to come up with more and could get back to me if you're still viewing this site.

Thank you so very much - this must be the most difficult song to track down ever :)

So, I assume by that you've not heard more from anyone these last number of years?

not a peep - now the only search returns for the song is this discussion. Even the keepers of song archives send me back to google when I send inquiries

I've even gotten replies like "are you sure this is an Irish song?"

OK.  Now this is going to drive me nuts.  Every time it crosses my mind it takes me  3 4 days to get past.  The problem is that I have the tune in my head and it's as though if I  repeat it often enough, more of it will come to me.  That's wrong judging by 40+ years of trying to remember.  I had a folk group in the 60s and it was then that I began to try and find the full lyrics beyond what my memory brought.

As for the quiz kid that asked if it was Irish, apparently if it doesn't have an O' in the front it doesn't qualify.  Crazy.  Best of luck to you and be assured I'll give you a heads up if I ever recall more or find anything about it.
