Hi all

Just a note to say a useful new research tool has come on line. Try it
out:

Go to http://www.mimo-db.eu
Enter "Flute Potter" in the search box and press the search icon. A list
of 25 hits appears.
Mouse over an entry, more details appear.
Click the view icon for an entry - the full record appears, including an
image. Various tabs contain various data elements.
Click on the image, a larger image appears.
Close that image, and hit Next - the next record appears in detail.

Search on "flute" and you get 5025 hits! "flute rudall" gives 38 hits. I
haven't looked much further myself yet. Further details see below....

Dear all,

As presented at the recent CIMCIM meeting, the resources assembled by
the recently completed MIMO project are now available to all, free of
charge.

Included are images and data for around 45,000 instruments in 9 major
museums, around 1800 digital audio files and around 300 video clips of
museum instruments being demonstrated.

The MIMO-DB database is searchable in 6 languages.

To access the content, go to:

http://www.mimo-db.eu

For information about the project, go to:

http://www.mimo-project.eu

For the revised Hornbostel-Sachs classification, go to:

http://cimcim.icom.museum/uymhs03.pdf

The content will soon also be available through www.europeana.eu but the
www.mimo-db.eu interface will continue and be developed.

Further museums will be joining MIMO.
