Traditional Irish Music
Hello fine folks at Trad Connect!
My band PerKelt is currently booking a tour through Ireland and North Ireland and we need some help finding more places to play. We've secured good anchor gigs each weekend from 22 August to the 9th of September, 2013 ( the Bandon Festival, a concert in Dublin, and another in Belfast), and we're looking to fill in the gaps.
I've contacted almost 50 other places, but I've not heard back from any of them! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but any suggestions you have will be greatly appreciated!
I'm not sure if I can post links to music, et cetera, here, so I won't until I ask a moderator. Until then, just look up PerKelt online and you can find a soundcloud page, youtube videos, and our official page to get more info. Here's a little bit more about the band, too:
For this tour, we will be a trio consisting of Paja Bastlova singing and playing recorders/whistles, Stepan Honc on guitar/lute, and myself on percussion. Primarily we play upbeat, heavily-Celtic-influenced versions of Medieval melodies and original compositions in the same spirit. The band has been together for five years, formed by Paja and Stepan in the Czech Republic after they graduated from conservatory together. They relocated to the UK, where they met me, (I also moved to the UK, from Hawai`i to complete a degree in Medieval music and percussion performance). At the time of the tour, we should be supporting our latest CD, as well as our two previous releases.
So, if anyone has any thoughts on where we can play and beef up this tour, it would be super greatly appreciated!
Thanks for reading my post and hopefully speak soon!
Will

Awesome! Thanks for making this a featured discussion! I have been digging through the events calendar and other pages on the site to get some ideas, too. This site is GREAT! Cheers!
Now if I can only get this tour sorted...
Thanks again!
