Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying 2016!  I wanted to know if anyone in this group owns or has played a Lawrence Nyberg bouzouki.  I've been looking to upgrade from the cheap Luna that I've been playing for the past four and a half years, and Ive recently been in touch with Lawrence Nyberg.  He is located on the west coast in British Columbia, Canada, and I am in Buffalo, NY, so it's impossible to see/play any of his pieces before I commit to an order.   I've tried a couple other luthiers, but their waiting list is quite long.  Nyberg has a couple zouks nearly completed that are not under commission, so they're not spoken for already.

Just looking for another opinion.

Hey Liam. Hope all's well.

As far as a Nyberg, does he have a website, or better yet, a YouTube video where you can listen to and watch someone play it. Never heard of him myself and I'm hoping I'm not being a Captain Obvious. Check if he has any reviews. I also have a Luna, and although I have sentimental attachment to this, my first zouk, I'm emotionally ready to upgrade though not financially. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Here's a link to a YouTube video of someone playing a Nyberg cittern.

Hey Liam. Any news on that NYBERG Zouk????

He makes nice instruments. Not to mention, the USD to CAD exchange rate was very favourable last time I checked, and the same goes for New Zealand.

Well, I did it..I sent payment for a new Lawrence Nyberg bouzouki earlier this week..
Port Orford Cedar top/Mahogany body,& He installed a Headway pickup for me ...since it was already under construction, I should have it in a couple weeks..ill post a pic or video ASAP! I'm excited to say the least!

Congrats! I'm sure it will be a big step up from the Luna Trinity.

I got it!...It's beautiful and sounds great! Lawrence Nyberg really does some fine work. Here's a link to Facebook post with some pics of my new bouzouki.
