Traditional Irish Music
Someone on this site asked me my opinion a number of months ago about the O'Flaherty's retreat. I apologize that I cannot remember who it was or where it was originally, in a discussion or comments. So I will just add it in the discussion here. This was my first retreat. I went the end of October. I absolutely loved it. Conal O'Grada was the flute instructor. He was very kind and he was able to help flutists of a variety of levels. The concerts by instructors were the best you can hear anywhere! The grounds were pretty and the lodging was fine. The food was fine too. There were breakout sessions and concerts at every meal. I don't know if I am giving the information that was desired, so let me know if you want more detail. I am definitely going again next October.

Thank you Danna sounds like it was a lot of fun , I am going to the next one and just wanted some input from someone that attended , I'm glad you enjoyed it as I'm sure I will , I'm trying to find where I can get Conal,s book as I've heard that its very good . thanks Gordon .
Hi Gordon. I will look forward to seeing you there. They are changing their format a bit, trying to provide a way for intermediate students to get more out of the lessons and still provide the advanced students with what they want. They have hotel rooms and cabins with bunk beds. If you want a hotel room it is good to reserve early. The "barbecue" Thursday night was not very good and I got worried, but after that the food was great.
