the Balladeer

This group is meant for anyone with a profound love for, or anyone who loves to sing the irish ballad. As badge for this group I uploaded a pic of Luke Kelly, balladeer. This should say enough about what I have in mind, I think...Luke Kelly and Ronny Drew were, so to speak,  "My Founding Fathers" concerning Irish music, and I fear we will never see their likes again...Anyway, if Sean Nos is not entirely your thing, and you want to talk Dubliners, Paddy Reilly or the Fureys kind of stuff, this is the place :-) Welcome to my virtual pub !!

Hello Kevin!

Welcome to the Balladeer. Hope you have a song or two for us :-) Maybe you would like to post one in "A song for a Beer" I've been singing all night there, now it's someone else's turn :-)

Thanks for the beer Kees!  I will likely be like Mike Orme.... heckle some....and he and I may be the last two out of the pub!  The first person in history to sing a ballad was very likely the first person to consume a beer....he sang shortly after....or was it Irish whiskey!!  Cheers
