Traditional Irish Music
Welcome to Tradconnect. We were established in 2011 and are now a community of over 6,000 members, all sharing an interest in traditional music. Over the last year 135,000 unique readers logged on, and each day 600+ visit the site.
What we are : We are still working this out. A community first and foremost. Beyond that we want Tradconnect to be the place that people go to when they want to discover new traditional music. We write a lot of independent content about the music we like, and which we think you will like. We are also supportive of artists and have created a place where they can reach a whole new audience, that are not their Facebook friends. The traditional music industry is a small and we recognise this. Most artists are not familiar with the online environment, social media etc. We therefore help and assist them in presenting themselves online so that you the reader can gain some insight into their music.
Members : As a member you should fill out your profile and add photos, videos, events etc. The site allows you to connect with others in your locality. Each week we post up a variety of articles, playlists, reviews etc which keep you informed about what is happening in the industry. If you are involved in traditional arts, remember that Tradconnect opens you and your organisation up to a vast new and dedicated audience. If you post up events or more detailed blogs which are interesting and informative we will feature them and post them back out to our other social media channels.
Artists : If you are an artist Tradconnect offers you the best alternative to Facebook, where over 80% of your friends may be other industry people. This is great for keeping in touch, or getting gigs, but not the new audience you should be targeting. Artists need to think about reaching new fans and this is where we come in. Tradconnect is an open platform. To access your new audience you simply need to post your events, video’s, photo’s etc. If you post blogs with a good image and audio we feature those and post them back out to our social media channels.
If you have a new album about to be released check out our TradRaidió our Download Centre ( see next item ).
Radio Broadcasters & Writers : In the summer of 2015 we started TradRaidió, an initiative that allows broadcasters to download new album releases for FREE. It had proven to be a tremendous success, and by the end of 2015 will have close to 100 broadcasters participating. To gain access make sure you are logged into Tradconnect, follow this link, request to join and we will be in touch.
