Five years since I posted in this blog. So much has changed. First on all the Copeland has gone and have since owned a Goodtime, a Barnes & Mullins and finally a Deering Eagle II, which is my only banjo now. I have progressed enough now to be playing in a 15 piece Folk Ensemble/ceilidh band. and a duo known as Barnsdale Hood. Also on the 2nd Sunday afternoon of each month I run a tune session in Barnsley.

Having played the fiddle and mandolin for nearly twenty years I have never been satisfied with the volume of the mandolin and my intonation on the fiddle especially in the faster tunes leaves a bit to be desired, I thought I would have a go with a new instrument.
I am now awaiting delivery of a Copeland 19 fret Irish tenor banjo from a Shop in Dublin. Any tips on playing and/or setting up would be much appreciated.
I will report how I am getting on with it as progress is made…
ContinueHi Alan,
Nice to hear from you mate, but sorry, no, I will not be venturing out tomorrow. I've just got back from holiday and have a list of stuff as long as your arm to catch up with.
Cheers,
Mike
