I am a closet player ;-) I hate large sessions where people feel the need to play at the hammers of hell. I prefer a quiet session where one can exchange tunes, stories. I like playing hornpipes at the right speed (not reel speed!!)
I am a contrary fiddler

I was taught by Seamus Thompson, one of the best Irish trad fiddlers in the world, who is totally underrated because he is such a nice quiet and humble guy.
If you ever get a chance to hear him play or get a lesson with him (fiddle or accordeon) you would be a fool not to avail of it. If anyone needs his address in Ireland (Longford) I can give it to you.
My fiddle heroes are Thompson, Eddie Kelly, Andy McGann. Jamesie Byrne,"Professor" Fahey, and Paula Doohan.
