I do play the Bodhran on occasion, but no guitar, used to play the drums 50 years ago too.  I do have a fiddle in storage that I keep for learning in the future should I have the time.... Several songs include Meaghers Irish Brigade in them, including a verse from "No Irish Need Apply" and Paddys Lament, if I remember correctly....

Sounds like some great experiences Dave, I got into actively singing  The really old songs in Irish about 8 years ago or so, and then the trad songs in English of late. There is of course an unlimited supply of songs to choose from, so a never ending endeavor.  I got into it as a result of writing numerous books on Irish History and genealogy.  One day I saw the words 'sean nós' (old style) in historical context and that sparked my initial interest.  Good to hear from you.  -Mike
