I've been playing fiddle since about age 11, and Irish music since living there for a year at 15-16. And I'm still learning. Those rolls and triplets are still tough. But it's SO COOL when I get 'em in the right place!

Hello Linda,

Will you be selling "Out On The Ocean", at O'Flaherty's?  I would like to buy two CDs.  My Dad was listening to mine in the car and wanted to barrow it.  Then he had some friends over that really liked it too.  So I have two new fans for you!! :)

Yes, I can buy it off of CDBaby, but I'm just not a fan yet of buying stuff Online.  But, I will because the album is really good.  And besides, I really want to encourage 9/8th's to regroup and record more.

Linda,

I am not only interested in 9/8ths gigs, I am also interested in hearing you.  :)

Do you have upcoming gigs?

Hello Linda,

This is Zeal S. (a.k.a Amy the guitar player that you see at Trinity Hall sessions and Dallas Home sessions every once in a while.)

I was looking around on this site yesterday and came across a video of a woman playing the guitar.  I thought she was awesome!   So I commented to her that I liked her playing and asked her for her opinions on some novice questions and her input about the challenges of women playing guitar.

When she wrote back, she gave me another site to look at which Nine-8ths Irish: http://www.nine8thsirish.com/

I replied and said that unbeknownst to me I have been listening to her album for months.  :)  Yep, Kathy Barwick caught my ear.  I really enjoy her interpretation.

You should check out our conversation on her page, under her posting of "The Roscommon Reel (aka Master Crowley's #2)".

PS: I don't see any gigs of 9/8ths coming up in the DFW area.  But I would still like to hear you play.  Can you give me information about other venues that you will be playing at locally near Dallas?
