I'm going to be in Dublin for a week in early October. Any suggestions on a good place for stranger-friendly sessions (prefer somewhat easy going) or ceilidh? I'll be bringing an English…Continue

I play guitar, banjo, both dulcimers, but your rendition of "a trip to durrow" is absolutely magnificent. I haven been "into" Iriah music since first seeing Makem and the Clancy Bros. on Ed Sullivan show back in 1959. You play better than well! IT's perfect!
Ooops, I just realised, if you are in Ireland, you would also be a tourist. I just realised that you are in Texas. This sure doesn't change the quality of your music. Is the beer good in Texas? lolll
Keep up the good work Mark, you sure play a beautiful music and I enjoyed every bit of it.Thanks for having me as a friend. If I ever make it to Ireland again, I'll look you up for a pint at the local pub.
Hi Mark,
I was wondering how long you could hold out before joining! so this is just a note to say thanks for doing so and to welcome you to the Carolan group. I know you are already a fan of the bard because I’ve heard you doing some wonderful renditions of his tunes!
I hope you find lots of inspiration for "new" tunes in the group and have a lot of fun with it. Members are most welcome to contribute in any of the group activity and I also welcome any suggestions on how the group can be improved and developed.
Many thanks for joining,
Mike
Hi Mark,
I just saw your comment. You're in Cedar Park?! Let's meet up and play some tunes!
Hiya Mark,
Many thanks for your kindness regarding Jacky Tar - and pleased to meet you!
I hope you get lots out of this website, I know I do. There are lots of great friendly people on here and I'm learning stuff all the time.
If you have a mind to, come and join us on "chat" sometime - I tend to be a regular user (or is that addict?).
Cheers,
Mike
