Traditional Irish Music
Sonas Recording has not received any gifts yet
Sonas is a recording studio based in Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland, on a stunning 5 acre site overlooking one of Killarney’s famous lakes, Lough Guitane. The studio has been in existence since 1994, and since then, we have had the pleasure of working with the best of musicians, local, national & international.
The studio is set in a 2000 sq. ft house, used exclusively for the purpose of recording. It includes a control room & three live rooms, allowing musicians to play live together with complete separation between instruments. Three of the four recording rooms provide a stunning view of lake & mountains.
The equipment we use has been carefully chosen to provide the ultimate signal path from mics to pres to conversion. We cater for all styles of music plus voiceover & audio for video.
Studio owner, Tony O’Flaherty, is also a musician & producer, playing many instruments. If you are a singer & need assistance with production, song arranging and music, Tony can help with all of the above. We also have several session musicians available on most instruments & styles, should they be required.
Our aim at the studio is to provide the client with the best possible recording experience in a stress free environment & a recording they will be proud of.
Recent albums recorded at Sonas include, Alan Kelly Gang 'Small towns & famous nights', Danny O'Mahony 'In retrospect', John Spillane 'A rock to cling to', Irish songs we learned at school', Frankie Gavin & De Danann ' Jigs, reels, & rock n roll', Seamus begley & Jim Murray 'Ragairne' , 'Eiri go Lá', Niamh Ni Charra 'Súgach sámh'.
