The Selkie Girls are a Texas-based Celtic group comprised of three women and four men. With four singers, the group excels at lush vocal harmonies with a song repertoire ranging from introspective to energetic.
Alli Johnson, the group’s lead singer and guitar player, was raised in Texas but has family roots in both Ireland and Scotland. Jaycie Skidmore also hails from Texas and plays flute, penny whistle, and sings soprano for the group. Linda Mudd plays celtic harp for the Selkies.

Tenor vocalist and guitarist Dave Ervin, of Scottish decent, was born in Seattle but has lived in Texas for 11 years. He was a core member of regional-favorite Celtic group, Brothers3, for several years, which performed regularly in Texas festivals, city events, and street fairs. Joel Black, a native Texan who plays upright and electric bass, has performed since the age of seven. Laying down percussion for the Selkies is Martin McCall. Born in Missouri, Martin now lives in Dallas and has been part of the local Texas music scene since the 80s. And, Mark Menikos plays fiddle/violin for our band. Mark was the founding member of Brothers3 and has been part of the Dallas/Fort Worth music for many years as well.

This seven member group has recently completed their first CD, Parting Glass, which artfully displays a variety of traditional and contemporary Irish and Scottish music with excellence and energy.
