Thanks Russ for this little gem which is a cracking video and which I think is near perfect music. Brendan Hendry, Brendan Mulholland and Paul McSherry are in flying form in this piece of magic recorded for the Blas Ceol BBC series in 2007 in the Crosskeys Inn. I must look up some more of their music.

TradConnect member Paul McNevin has launched the site last year and it is dedicated to the teaching and sharing of traditional Irish fiddle music through new media.

One of TradConnect's goals is to give a voice to the hundreds of musicians across the globe who have a passion and love for the tradition, and who take the time and effort to go into a studio and record. This especially applies to our youth a lot of whom are studying at third level. Music for many is not a full time job so recording while studying, and carrying forth the…Continue

It's great discovering what sounds like great album releases that may just have just passed us by over the summer months of last year. There is a copy of this in the post to me and if you play banjo you should clap your ears around the sound clips on their website http://www.adrianandcathalmusic.com/ It sounds very tasty. The…Continue

This site is a resource for people who are interested in learning Irish music on the flute—particularly the simple-system (six-hole) transverse flute, sometimes referred to as the "Irish flute."
If you're new to the flute, you can check out a…Continue

There is no doubt that when talking about Paul McGlinchey you are dealing with a musician to the very core. He speaks from the heart about his music and says that it has "defined" who he is and it has provided the social interaction that is at the…Continue
On February 16th-18th this year the sixth annual Joseph Browne School of Traditional Music will take place in Kinvara, Co, Galway. It is worthwhile posting a little profile here of Joseph Browne from the music school site, as a way of providing background to Joseph as well as the music school that has been named in his honour.…Continue

We wanted to post up these two tunes which originated in Scotland but have become a part of the regular Irish session repertoire. We hope that you like our version!

Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim would be best known in musical circles as the home of the Joe Mooney Summer School but it has added another string to its bow in the last few years.

Sometimes it is worth dipping into the video vault and extracting videos that can get easily lost. For any budding guitar player this is a great great version of Si Bheag Si Mhór and one that I keep returning to every now and again. In fact I sent a link to our own session guitar player and said , now learn that by Thursday. I think he is still working on it.
Thanks Ed for this great version. Nice to see your fancy new website as well. It looks great. Members…Continue
I have just discovered that our own Katie Davis Henderson is one half of Killarney which also features Colin Bott's, another Tradconnector, on octave mandolin, guitar, banjo, bass and vocals. Indeed you may not know this but Katie herself is a fine singer and features on a number of tracks on the album. On TradConnect we have had the pleasure of her New Tune a Day which we have used extensively on our…Continue

This sounds like an exciting prospect from the Alan Kelly Gang and I look forward to getting my hands on a copy of it.
The band is fronted by Ireland’s piano accordion maestro, described by New York’s Irish Voice as ‘in league with the best piano accordionists in the world’, and with three of…Continue
