Traditional Irish Music
A friend of mine just showed me Jamlink (https://musicianlink.com/) and played back a recording he made of a "session" he had with a friend in another town. I am not affiliated in any way with jamlink, but i thought it sounded interesting.
I am sorry if this is old news, but i didn't find anything when i searched for "Jamlink" her at TC.

Can't find the discussion topic i am thinking of a.t.m., but here's a good article for us old geezers who developed an urge to play an instrument as 'adults'

I wish everyone here at Tradconnect a very merry christmas, and big thanks for the fantastic career so far!
Tony, you're the man!
And all participating members - you're the men and women! :)
Today i got my new flute from Rob Forbes , a short foot Pratten-esque D- flute in Delrin.
Intonation is lovely, sound is strong and resonant, the flute buzz between your fingers! :)
Only had it for a few hours, but i am impressed so far! A bargain for the price, really!…Continue
Based on the premise that ‘If you can’t hear it, you can’t play it’, Conal takes a progressive approach to building the students flute technique (What does it Sound like...How is it Done...Where is it Used), starting with the basics (Holding the flute, Breathing, Cuts etc.) and working up to more advanced techniques (Glottal Stops, Rolls and…
Bought one of these, and it arrived today:
A case humidifier from Oasis humidifiers
I removed some padding from the lid of my flute case, stuck the steel holder, with adhesive back in the lid and attached the humidifier.
Might be overkill for a flute case,…Continue

Very good band! Went to see them in Copenhagen last friday, good gig and they were friendly people.
Eoin O'Meachair had a set of Sindt whistles ranging from A to Eb.. Lucky b-rd :)
Their albums are well worth buying, have a listen here:Continue
Went there yesterday, wanted to catch Andy Irvine and Dónal Lunny, which i indeed did *see below*
great concert, great to hear a lot of the 'old ones' again, and both Andy and Dónal are still cracking performers!
Had a nice session as well as the biggest chicken & bacon sandwich i have seen, let alone eaten in my life!
Kudos to the artists and to the hard working 'crew' who make it…Continue

Well.. maybe tour is stretching it some, but two pub gigs anyway, friday and saturday, with the band 'Cuts and crans' we had a good time and some good music although the audience failed to show last night. It escapes me how/why the owner had us start so early?! By the time we'd done our three sets and started packing, the people began coming in in numbers.. Oh well..
Here's a clip featuring T.C. member Hasse Ljungdahl (thanks for the lodging btw) playing 'The snowy breasted…Continue

So last night i went to nearby town of Lund, the old dairy to see the guys again.
Glad i did, amazing concert again, nice relaxed and cozy, small venue. Had the chance to talk to Cathal, Gerry and Martin and even squeeze in a (very short) flute duet with Cathal, playing 'Valentia harbour'
All in all, another night to remember for life!
This time i decided not to be cheap, and bought Cathal's song book with accompanying audio DVD…Continue
By chance i heard one of the most moving, beautiful airs again last night. First heard Liam Óg O'Flynn play it in a documentary about Seamus Ennis, and after that spent years looking for "Valencia Harbour"
Then last night i found out it's 'Valentia' (Ireland) not 'Valencia' Spain.. If only computers could have the decency to suggest "Mate, i think what you're looking for is Valentia, not Valencia"..
Anyway, here it is, beautifully played by Christy O'Leary and Cathal…Continue
Had a marvellous time in Copenhagen last night! First a fantastic gig feat. Cathal, Gerry O'Connor and Martin Quinn, and after the gig we had a few tunes, songs, beer and laughs : )
Great craic, and great to finally have seen Cathal live! (not to forget the other two guys of…Continue

IRELAND, The only place where........
• When you were young, you went to bed when Glenroe was over
• If you die from alcohol poisoning, you're considered a lightweight
• 'F*** off' means 'Are you serious?'
• The person that you insult most is probably your best friend
• Saying 'I will, yea' means that you definitely won't
• "F*** it, its grand' means that you couldn't be bothered to finish it properly
• 'Hes fond of a drink' means he…Continue
