Traditional Irish Music
Some jaw dropping (and as always full of humour and mischief) playing by Phil and Johnny (R.I.P.) Cunningham. Sorry but embedding is disabled.
(Btw, i just love when Phil 'inflates' the accordeon á la bagpipes :-D )
Some casual playing..
The man's got embouchure from hell : )
Could probably kill a small bird passing by with that low D!
Also a very good flute maker, almost ordered a Pratten from him.

For some reason The Chieftains 'Bells of Dublin' DVD was mentioned tonight, and i found this beautiful clip. I remember the first time i heard it it almost brought tears to my eyes, and again tonight i could feel the hair on my arms raise..

Kid brothers to iMpempe B/Bb combo arrived today. Lovely D with Eb-tube this time.
Can only recommend Ian Turnbulls whistles!

Played two gigs with Eamonn O'Riley, live recordings at local pub/café, great craic with great people! Hopefully there will be more gigs in the future!Continue

It arrived today, and i have barely had time to play it seriously yet (Official premiere will be Kalmar next weekend at Eamonn O'Reilly's live recording gig) but already "raw" out of the box it plays every bit as well as the old one, perhaps with a little brighter sound and a bit more attack. The one screw tensioner is brilliant, as opposed to fiddling…Continue
Spontaneous appearance by yours truly in local countryside church
Maria Bojlund - fiddle
Markus Tullberg - concert flute, cittern

A couple of days ago i heard Óige, feat. Cara Dillon in a video clip on Baxter Labatos Facebook page,
and i started thinking of the great craic we had at Gothenburg Irish festivals back in 1994 and then again in 1997
I added the O'Kane brothers on Facebook and Murrough remembered even more than i did from the festival :)
I also got more details, among them Eamon…Continue

Silly, but had to share :)
Right.. Back again after a weekend starting with torrential downpours on friday, sitting in with the band 'Cuts and crans' as bodhrán stuntman : )
The saturday cleared up (thank God) and we had a good craic with lots of music and, among a host of others, the…Continue
Two of my favourite artists (Conal O'Grada and Colm Murphy) on two of my favourite instruments (Flute and Bodhrán)
All rolled into one, and a nice set, Lord Gordon's / Kiss the maid behind the barrel lift my spirits every time i hear it.
