Over 120 Broadcasters now using Tradconnect's 'Download Centre' to access new albums

In 2015 we announced a major new partnership with Irish radio broadcasters around the world.
This initiative allows radio broadcasters to download newly released traditional albums for immediate airplay.

At present 120 broadcasters are participating.

Here is how it works:

  • Tradconnect works directly with artists and uploads their album to a private area on Tradconnect.
  • Tradconnect prepares a launch article like this
  • The above article is shared on all our social media platforms and some appear on RTE Culture website and RTE News Now App
  • Broadcasters can listen to a playlist and then download the album

Early reaction to this initiative has also been hugely positive and you can read about it here. For artists launching a new album, this provides a one-stop distribution channel. It will allow artists to have a truly global launch date with broadcasters globally accessing the album on the same day. It will also allow artists to concentrate on other matters in the knowledge that distribution is covered.

Artists will be charged a nominal amount for the preparation of content and the uploading of tracks. This initiative is open to all albums in the general Celtic genre with a strong emphasis on Irish traditional music.

While there will be a focus on new albums, older albums are also being accepted as it may give them a new lease of life. It will add significantly to the airplay of Irish artists abroad, while at the same time introducing European audiences to some of the great music coming out of North America, the UK and Europe.

If you are a broadcaster or artist email us at tradconnect@gmail.com and we will forward you some additional information.
