The idea for the Song of the Isles Singer’s Club occurred to me after my interview with Niamh Parsons. Her participation in theAn Góilín singer’s club in Dublin drove home the importance of sharing our songs with others in an environment of mutual respect. So I hope others will take up the challenge/privilege/opportunity of recording your singing. Try out a new song, sing an old favorite, or show off the work you’re putting into making a song your own.
It doesn’t have to be with the fanciest equipment. Just you and a mic or webcam is enough. Post your videos or sound files (I’d recommend using YoutTube and SoundCloud) in the comments section of each week’s Singer’s Club post, and those posts will be collected on a new SOTI Singer's Club page.
It’s only fair that I contribute each week if I expect others to do so, so I’ll go first. Cheers!
