Album of the Month for March 2014 - The Friel Sisters

The March 2014 album of the month will be the debut recording by The Friel Sisters.  "Anna, Sheila and Clare Friel are young traditional musicians born in Glasgow with their family roots firmly entrenched in the Donegal Gaeltacht (Derrynamansher). Being siblings, they achieve a close blend on fiddle, flute and uilleann pipes interspersed with songs sang in unison, many from their family and local repertoire". The track variety, arrangements and general air of fun that emanates from the recording make it all the more enjoyable. Gearoid Ó Maonaigh and Griogair Labhruidh on guitar, and Seamus Ó Kane on bodhrán provide the accompaniment. Its a definite early highlight to the year and a worthy album of the month.
