I'm keeping it simple this time, because I need you to focus... (focus... (focus...))

Just two things: (1) a look ahead to that big green splotch on your calendar, about 4-6 weeks from now, and (2) one very important event this Saturday:

Concert/Seisiun: Grand Re-Opening of the Kerry Hills Pub

I've written about Rockaway Beach NY before, so maybe you know that my mother is the proprietor of the Kerry Hills Pub.... An event like this-- no high-end logos, no corporate sponsors, not even a stage-- is the only way that communities are really built. And rebuilt. Join us, this Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 4pm.

Please read more...

And please share this event far and wide. Musicians, listeners, rogues, rakes, friends, and well-wishers all welcome!

Thanks as always for being on my mailing list; I know how much email we all get, so I'm grateful for the opportunity to stay in touch like this.

Till mid-February, slán agat.

P.S.: I get to missing you when it's only once or twice a month. Let's keep in touch in the meantime:

WDVR Irish Concert Fundraiser: If there's one thing I've learned from working with nonprofit organizations, it's this: there's never a bad time to do some fundraising. If there's one thing I've learned from being Irish, it's this: in March, even normal people like Irish music. Dinner, three acts, and maybe even a seisiun, and you'll still be home in time for SNL.

Rock and Reads are events that I'll be doing with Mike Farragher, the author of This Is Your Brain on Shamrocks, and other musicians in some cases, in February and March. He'll bring his books; I'll bring my CDs and guitar. He'll read; I'll rock (or at least sway a little).
