I first listened to this video to hear Gerry of course, and he marvelous, as always. But I find the guitar player's work fascinating. First of all, who is he? No, the first thing I noticed is that he is playing his acoustic guitar with an SST pickup amplified. If they were performing on a big stage that would not be unusual at all, but this is the first time I have heard an amplified acoustic guitar* in an informal setting. Next, his bass lines are very dominant, very scalar and at times chromatic. He plays very much like a bluegrass guitar player. And finally, he plays in standard tuning. I am tempted to say that he plays a lot like I do, but it will be more accurate to say that he plays like I wish I did. Who is he?

*I know, amplified acoustic guitar sounds like an oxymoron, but how else can you describe it?
