Congrats Dylan Foley - Senior All Ireland Fiddle Champion 2014

Congrats to Dylan Foley, Senior All- Ireland Fiddle Champion 2014.  It may be no coincidence that the last time the title went to the States was 1986 when Dylan's mentor/teacher Brian Conway won. Its the only competition I got to this year at the Fleadh and with 20 competitors it takes about 5 hours in total to get through, so quite a fiddle fest.  I got to hear a great performance from Dylan before having to depart. "Dylan was a student of the Rose Flanagan (the original fiddler in Cherish the Ladies) and counts Joanie Madden, Brian Conway, Mike McHale, and Monsignor Charlie Coen among his primary influences."

He is also a member of New York band The Yanks who we have covered quite regularly on the site and you can check out their new album Haymaker here. He has also released a solo album called Hup! and we include a track from it below.  In second place was Roisin Anne Hughes and in third Áoife Ní Chuinneagáin.  We will try and get to cover a few of the other senior winners over the next week or so.
