Debut release from Papilio called Taking Flight

We are delighted to announce the debut release by Papilio who are a neo-celtic/world contemporary/traditional trio based in Nova Scotia.  They feature Tradconnect members Phil Schappert and  Anthony Rissesco and the album is called Taking Flight.  We will hopefully get round to reviewing it shortly. "Papilio captures the organic spirit and drive of traditional Celtic, Folk, Nordic, and World music while giving it a new, contemporary, creative twist. More than just another ceili band, they invite the listener to embark upon an auditory journey through Ireland, Scotland, the Maritimes, Brittany (the Celtic region of France), Galicia/Asturias (Celtic regions of Spain), Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and beyond, adding a sprinkle of folk ballads and their own ‚ "in-the-tradition‚" original compositions. Their scope and appeal is broad, reflecting the connections that Nova Scotians feel to both their deep-rooted history and to the multi-cultural, multi-faceted realities of modern society."
