Dempsey's Beautiful People Documentary Due for Screening

"Not expecting anything but a few hours of mingling at the post screening party of our last film, Welcome To Academia, I walked into Dempsey's Pub on Second Avenue and was struck immediately by its dreamlike atmosphere. It looked and felt just right for a project that had been buried in my sub conscious for a while. I felt like I had stepped into a painting by some of my favorite old masters, enhanced by the music that the people in "the painting" were playing. After listening to their performances and talking to some of the musicians I knew we had something very precious and unique to work on."

These are the words of Elzbieta Szoka the director of a film called Beautiful People.

In the documentary Beautiful People, ten members of the longest running traditional Irish music group in New York City talk about not only their interest in this type of music but offer a peek inside their lives to try and find what draws them towards this activity. It should be a great documentary so look our for screenings and check their website here
