A brand-new festival of Irish Traditional Music - Dromore Trad 8th - 10th April 2016

Press Release : A brand-new festival of Irish Traditional Music has been recently announced to take place in Dromore, Co. Tyrone from 8th - 10th April 2016.

The eagerly-anticipated festival features some of the biggest names on the Traditional Music scene with the all-star lineup including All-Ireland Champions alongside noted recording artists.

The 3-Day Festival launches with a Gala Concert on Friday Night (8th April) featuring Edel Fox, Neill Byrne, Daithi Gormley, Cein Sweeney, Enda Seery, Theresa O'Grady, Declan Payne, Lauren O' Neill and PJ McDonald. The concert kicks off at 8pm in St Patrick's Hall. Tickets will be available on the door or by contacting any committee member for £10. This is a night not to be missed with something for young and old!

Workshops will take place on Saturday 9th April in St John's Business & Enterprise College. Please be advised - early booking is a must as spaces are limited and demand is high! Workshops take place in Piano Accordion, Button Accordion, Flute, Whistle, Singing, Fiddle, Concertina, Banjo and Harp. Workshops take place between 11am - 4pm with registration from 10am. Booking can be made by contacting 07514100058. All music workshops are £10 per student.

Free Irish language Workshops are also on offer for all levels including classes specifically for GCSE and A-Level Students. Irish Workshops take place in St John's and are from 11am-4pm with registration at 10am.

From Friday through 'til Sunday the village will be awash with music and song along the session trail. Follow the Session Trail over the festival to see the tutors in action with many more local and visiting artists. 
The Festival moves into full swing on Saturday with events to suit all tastes. Edel Fox features in a Concertina Recital in O'Connor's at 7.30pm and with the session trail from 8pm onward including a Youth Session (Forge Marquee) and Singing Session (Credit Union).
The feature event on Saturday 9th April is the Late Gig with PJ McDonald and Special Guests starting at 11pm in the Central (Back Venue). This promises to be an intimate showcase of talent from some of the top names in Irish Music. Tickets for this event are limited!
