Traditional Irish Music
The initial response to our Music Download Centre has been hugely positive. We have been inundated with emails and comments since we posted this press release, and we include some of the comments below. The albums we have included so far are now featuring on shows in Ireland, USA, Canada and Australia.
The success of the centre is not solely about broadcasters having a copy of an album. The goal is to make the news we post regarding launches, events, concerts relevant to broadcasters, so that they can grab a track and include it in their playlists.
We have added a dozen albums to date and have close to 50 broadcasters signed up with another 15 broadcasters due to sign up.
For now we are accepting albums from 2014 and 2015, and may soon restrict it to 2015 only. If you have an album that you think needs to be heard then get in touch with us. We have a Guide to the Download Centre for you that sets out some further detail.
If you are about to launch a new album we are looking at the idea of a Single Day Global Launch, with broadcasters getting a copy on the same day. Contact us at this address..
A quick note to congratulate you on the fantastic concept of a Music Download Centre, making albums instantly accessible to media. Best of luck with your endeavors, which are making a great contribution to the scene. Oisín MacDiarmada
This is a spectacular idea. Dan Neely (Irish Echo)
Wonderful news for Tradconnect – Good luck with it all – and thanks for doing so many good things for so many people!!! Niamh Parsons
I've been waiting years for a service like this to get the best new Celtic music available to share with the listeners of my radio show. I've tried some other similar websites that cover all genres, but the quality and quantity of Celtic music just wasn't there. Having one genre-specific place for Celtic artists to easily get their music to Celtic radio broadcasters is a win-win for everyone - the musicians, the radio hosts, but most especially the fans! Susan J.E. Ritta
What a great idea! A place for those of us who love Trad and look to share it! At times it can be tough to find new Trad music here in the States, and this group allows me download new music that my listeners haven't heard. I always look forward to discovering artists that I may not have access to, and being able to introduce those artists to my listeners! Tim Larkin
This idea is pure genius on so many levels. Bud Sargent
A splendid idea that enables broadcasters and lovers of Irish Trad. rapid access to new and reissued recordings to play on air. This should be a win for artists and broadcasters. Rick Rubin
This is wonderful. Where else would we find these wonderful artists and comments being added about being played on various stations. It is great for the Artists, but more importantly the radio listeners are able to hear these new artists. Alan Hossack
I am so excited to be added to this group. I have my own collection of music, but like to hear and play new groups as well. TradConnect has been a great way to stay in touch with what's happening on the trad scene in Ireland and keep abreast of new groups. Having a central 'clearinghouse' to come to and put musicians in touch with broadcasters is an invaluable resource that is going to benefit everyone. Chris Higgins
